Subsidence - Total Lifting
Occasionally we come across buildings which act as a stiff unit and therefore tend to rotate due to subsidence rather than crack through differential movement. The result is the building itself is relatively undamaged through the effect of subsidence but the whole structure has rotated out of level. By installation of a series of RC beams at ground floor level with suitable jacking foundations we can rotate the building complete and intact back to level.
Subsidence - Partial Lifting
A building which has distorted out of level through the effect of subsidence related settlement can be brought back in line. The extent of repair required is thus minimised. This is undertaken by creation of “hinge” points in the RC beams to allow the various sections of a building to articulate relative to each other.
Flooding
The system for jacking and lifting buildings complete and intact is ideally suited for buildings in a flood risk area. We can electronically control the movement of the building upwards to keep the whole structure in plane. Once prepared for jacking the building can be raised to any height.
Space Creation
Depending on their location some buildings are best suited to jacking vertically upwards to create extra accommodation as an alternative to the more conventional route for creation of a basement below. A building can be jacked an entire storey height if required.
